outgrown stuff and toys
Several minutes ago, our friends Jerry and his daughter Amy stopped by to drop off four boxes of used clothing but are still in great condition and a lot of toys that Amy has outgrown. Let me tell you, there were a lot that it filled a huge space in the living room when they were all scattered all over. I wish I have taken some shots of it, but they all became a mess when I went out of the bedroom to proceed to the living room because MIL and FIL were like kids who got so excited to open the gorgeous-looking box where all the stuff were placed. Yeah, I said gorgeous because Jerry diligently wrapped them with a red-tying-ribbon that looks so christmassy. It is the second year that Jerry’s family do such thing to us. They figured we like to send out balikbayan boxes to friends and families in Philippines and then they would usually give the stuff out to those neighboring people who would really feel so delighted to receive some. I remember this time last year, I packed two huge boxes and Jerry did two, too and we sent them altogether through a shipping company in Chicago. It was pure joy to know how happy the receivers back home are. Not only family and friends but even prisoners and some really poor neighborhoods as my very own mother is into such thing much. She is the chair of the DORCAS Department of our church so she loves to receive packages from me with stuff that I intend to give away. Now, I have a lot to pack to send soon. These may not arrive on time, but there’s never a delay as to giving away gifts that would truly print smiles to those people who need them.
