bulletin of birthday cards
I’ve shared in my other blog some shots of our Lincoln Presidential Museum Trip. Actually, I still have a lot of photos to share but for this post, I wanna especially feature a huge bulletin filled with birthday wishes in forms of cards in it.
Oh don’t be thrilled to think that those bunch of cards are for me. Well, it’s a wishful thinking right here that I’ll be receiving such number of cards come my birthday [which is in two weeks, yoo-hoo!]. It would be impossible! Ha ha ha. Actually, those cards in the bulletin are for Mr. Abraham Lincoln who is supposed to be 200 years old this year had he been living till now. So our timing for the visit to the museum was perfect! There were a lot of extra shows in the galleries presented and we had so much fun touring the whole museum. I could feel how special Abraham Lincoln is to America and the whole world. I think what he has done during his term was remarkable and truly incomparable. It’s sad that he doesn’t see what the current state of the nation and of the world is right now, but seeing how he is being remembered by so many people who value his legacy is worth uttering. The numerous birthday and gratitude wishes posted everywhere in the country right now are just amazing.
Today, we headed off to the city library for Triz’s stuff and I regretted not being able to grab and bring my digital camera with me. The second floor of the library was filled with wonderful and creative artworks made by many elementary students in all schools here in the city in honor of President Lincoln’s 200th birthday. Everything was worth watching and sure enough, we spent more than an hour checking out every display in the exhibit. Truly amazing. I am not a believer of birthday celebrations when the celebrant has already passed away but this- Lincoln’s 200th birthday is an exception.
