Maid of Honor
This guest post from Doris Dillon
My sister and I are complete opposites. We can argue about pretty much anything from Satellite internet vs dialup to serious things like politics. You would think that two sisters that are only two years apart in age, grew up in the same house, and with the same parents would have something in common. But we really don’t. Since we are so different and have never been close, I was extremely surprised when my sister asked me to be the maid of honor at her wedding next summer. She has always surrounded herself with huge groups of girlfriends so I always thought she would just ask one of them. Even though we are so different it’s nice to know that blood is thicker than water and she wants me to be a big part of her wedding. I am so excited do all of the girly things with her like shop for wedding dresses and plan her bachelorette party and bridal shower. I’m hoping that this experience will help us get closer and not just highlight our differences. I met the rest of the girls in the bridal party last weekend and they were all really cool, so I’m hoping for the best.
