What Typhoon Sendong Did to CDO and Iligan
I’m sure you have heard and have known about Typhoon Sendong with an international name Tropical Storm Washi and how badly it devastated and damaged Northern Mindanao– the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, and the provinces of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon. Being a victim of the flash flood, I myself, am suffering from the devastation even if I am very far from my family.
I looked at this photo from my Facebook Newsfeed and I can’t believe what happened to the subdivision where my family’s house in Balulang stood:
Those houses on top right of the photo is where my family’s house stood, and after the flood, it is filled with mud that is now knee-high level. Clean up should be underway but my family couldn’t because the water supply isn’t back yet.
I am doing my own way of helping my family, our friends, and neighbors there that got flooded and I have blogged about my drive here. You may want to take a look at it. Meanwhile, I wish nothing but hope and help for my fellow Kagay-anons! We will rise soon!
