Speaking and Presentation Appointments
I am such an early bird today! I got up earlier to prepare hubby’s food and stuff for the day. So early that right now, at 7:50am, I feel like going back to bed. I will, to cuddle the daughter and sleep may be till noon, as a reward for getting up so early! LOL. The husband has left an hour ago to drive to Green Lake, Wisconsin to attend the 44th Annual Wisconsin Mathematics Council Conference, which, excitingly, he’s a part of this time, not only as an attendee but as a Guest Speaker and a presenter. Too bad he doesn’t take pictures, I wouldn’t be seeing a snap of him doing his thing. And too bad, too, that we weren’t able to go. It would have been a perfect chance for me and Triz to tour Green Lake, but the daughter is still snoring, and hubby’s first speaking appointment for today is at 9:30, so he has to be there before that.
Around the same time last year, the husband also went as the university’s representative, along with four other professors from their department. I always loved it every time he goes to academic gatherings like this because when he comes back, he always shares so many interesting stuff that he has learned and discovered. This year will be even bigger for him because after the screening committee checked his researches, he was approved to do two presentations.
He’ll be presenting his academic research that he has conducted which is about “Students’ Confidence and Performance in Solving Quadratic Equations”, and from what I have learned from this study, I am sure the faculties and attendees that will be listening to this presentation will be amazed at the facts and figures that the husband has gathered from the respondents.

The second presentation is the very exciting Mathematics problem that he has developed using the Geometer’s Sketchpad software and it is called “The Farmers’ Problem”. I’m sure it will be a hit, because even the non-Mathematician me enjoyed learning this one.
I am so excited and proud of the husband for these speaking engagements that he has. After all, I get to be a part of his presentation, too, because he always let be recheck and review his Powerpoint document over and over again that sometimes gives me “nosebleed” moments, especially when I come across a lot of Math languages! LOL.
For now, I wish you all a beautiful Friday and wonderful weekend! Now let me exit and head back to the bed! Hehe…
